The EBII Group and the Said Business School, University of Oxford, recently launched the “Africa Series” executive programme. The Africa Series first offering, Process, Growth, Resilience and Sustainability (PRoGRES), is a four-module online course running over six months. The course includes modules on public and private investments, sustainable investments, digital finance, governance, and risk management. The modules shall be taught by leading academics and practitioners associated with Oxford Saïd and the broader University in partnership with EBII, along with guest speakers provided by EBII and Oxford said Business School directly.
According to Hon Seedy Keita, the Minister of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration, Employment for the Gambia, who delivered keynote addresses at the course launch events; the course is being launched at the right time, especially in light of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) and Africa’s growing demographic dividend. He said that the course contains resources that can empower investors with the knowledge and skills needed to understand the continent’s local markets.
Indeed, the course is targeted towards regulators, policymakers, investors, trade professionals, CEO’s and senior executives globally and hopes to teach them how to navigate the African investment landscape. This is especially important as the launch of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA). This, therefore, complements efforts being made by firms and governments on the continent to facilitate the ease of trading within the AfCFTA.
